Matt Shapiro’s annual Cinescape always amazes, but I’m a little bummed out with how many I’ve missed in 2011. Time to update the Netflix & Redbox queues.

JGL brought his A game for 50/50.  Do yourself a favor and go see it next month.

Following up on the previous post, now you can enjoy the final product!  For anyone unfamiliar, local teams had 48 hours to write, shoot, cut, and deliver a 5-7 minute short over the course of a weekend.  Proud of my talented amigos…

Is there any way this won’t be the best movie of the summer?  For the record, I fully support Nolan’s decision to continue using Hans Zimmer for epic scores.

Looking forward to seeing this one in the fall, because I dig Ryan Reynolds (see what I did there!?) and I can’t think of a more terrifying real-life situation. 

I was fortunate enough to hear JGL perform a reading firsthand at SxSW, and I’d love to film a short using this as the adapted screenplay.

General Rule of Thumb: Rian Johnson + Joseph Gordon Levitt = Enjoyable Results

For the record, ‘frugal’ has a much better connotation than ‘penny-pinching’.
